Great organic tampon.
So I made the switch to organic tampons and my cycle is also much heavier than it used to be. I’d leak through with tampax supers, but not with these. I like that the applicator is smaller to fit into my bags and be discrete and they hold a lot more volume. I do not leak through with these.

Lola organic tampons are a good quality and I have no issues with leaking, however the packaging for the big 32 pack is flimsy and almost looks generic compared to the packaging these tampons come in at the retail stores.

What Was I Going To Do?
Kotex discontinued their best-selling product, regardless of the thousands of women (based on the pleadings on their website to change their minds) who say it is the only tampon that worked for them. I tried every other name brand on the shelf. Even though they all made the “best of” lists by various bloggers and professional reviewers, nothing worked. I turned to online products on the bloggers’ lists. None of them worked.What was I going to do?I had no choice but to continue trying products until I found just one tampon that worked. That was when i found Lola. I was skeptical. It is shaped just like all the others, and it’s short like all the others and doesn’t expand. And, it has that dreaded compact size applicator, which never inserts as easily as Kotex’s tampons with full-length applicators did.The difference between Lola and the others, though, is that it WORKS! I have used them for a couple of cycles now, and they seem to work just as well as my favorite Kotex products. They absorb well, and they fit well. They even insert easily. The added bonus is that Lola’s wrapper is a lot sturdier than Kotex’s was, which means I can carry it in my purse and not worry about the package ripping open, which reduces the amount of tampons I have to throw away unused.I haven’t quite committed to a subscription service, but it might be the first product I ever subscribe to, just because I like it so much.

I thought all tampons are the same until…
I bought these because they are organic, free of perfume and dyes. I was surprised by the volume of fluid they hold and comfort. I never have a huge gush and leak with these as I have others. Now that I tried Lola, I won’t go back to any other brand and my daughters use them too and feel they stand out in performance compared to mainstream brands. For some strange reason, I am not cramping as bad either with these.

Doesn’t expand or absorb fully, lots of leaks!
I wanted to use tampons without chemicals so tried Lola as my first organic tampon. This is my second period using these and they’re terrible. They don’t expand and aren’t very absorbent so you get leaks even before the tampon is “full,” if you know what I mean. Luckily I wear a pad the first few days as back up because my flow is heavy but within maybe 30 minutes — before the tampon is even needing to be removed — I start seeing leaks on my pad. One thing I’ve noticed is they don’t expand like a certain big brand I have used my whole life, that little umbrella shape. I’m beginning to feel like that’s pretty important because these just remain this tight tube of cotton and don’t expand at all to “block” a wider path, so your flow gets around the tampon pretty easily and before it’s full. That’s my theory. That and the fact that the cotton just doesn’t seem that absorbent. I’ll also say because I don’t feel like doing another review, the pads are narrow and the wings don’t stick to any panty material, so that “hold” you’re supposed to have to keep the pad in place…doesn’t happen. Maybe this brand is for light flow ladies but it’s a wrap for me on Lola.
